The Ernest Journal
“Ernest is a blog, iPad magazine and biannual printed journal for curious and adventurous gentlefolk. It is a guide for those who appreciate true craftsmanship and the care that goes into making, who are fascinated by curious histories and eccentric traditions and who care more for timeless style than trends.”
Ernest has been one of my favourite projects to work on so far in my career as a writer. The content is always varied, creative and intriguing, and this will be the first time that I will be in print and sold internationally. I have contributed articles to their blog, am involved in proofing and fact-checking the magazine’s content, and have recently been invited to be a part of Ernest’s book publishing endeavours. As a result of my research work for their upcoming book, I have been selected to write 2 features of my own. A selection of my works can be found on their website.
My responsibilities as an Editorial Assistant include helping to manage the magazine’s accounts and orders, advertising outreach, writing, editing, proofreading and content curation for the magazine’s newsletter (released every 2 weeks). Below is a selection of my favourite pieces that have appeared in Ernest Journal.
